What the browser adds

The server already sees 216.73.217.54, AS16509. The tests below run in your browser. The WebRTC test starts only when you click.

Datacenter or cloud

Amazon (AS16509) announces this address. Sites often treat cloud addresses as a VPN, proxy, or server. It does not by itself mean a VPN app is running.

Comparing the browser timezone with the IP timezone…

WebRTC

This opens a peer connection and asks a public STUN server which addresses your browser is willing to share. Local addresses are not, by themselves, a leak.

Method: the ASN list is short and incomplete, and the Tor list is the Tor Project’s exit bulk list. A clear result does not prove the absence of a VPN. What a WebRTC leak means. This page is not a DNS leak test: a DNS leak is a lookup that bypasses the VPN, and seeing it requires watching the resolver.

Questions

What is a WebRTC leak test?

WebRTC gathers possible network paths for a call. A leak is a second public address, gathered by the browser, that is not the address this site already saw. The test runs only after you click.

What is a DNS leak test?

A DNS leak is when name lookups go to a resolver outside the VPN. This site does not run that test, because it would need to see which resolver asked for a name. The DNS leak guide explains what to look for. This page checks WebRTC, timezone, and the ASN instead.

Does a timezone mismatch prove I am on a VPN?

No. The browser timezone comes from the operating system. The IP timezone comes from a geolocation database. They also differ when you travel or when the database is wrong.
