Am I behind CGNAT?

The public address is 216.73.217.54. The verdict below is an ASN heuristic. The browser check looks for a 100.64.x address, which is stronger evidence.

The family that loaded this page is filled in by the server. The other family appears only if the browser reaches a check on that family. A missing line is the result, not a request still in progress.

Datacenter or cloud

Amazon (AS16509) announces this address. Sites often treat cloud addresses as a VPN, proxy, or server. It does not by itself mean a VPN app is running.

Checking for a shared-address candidate…

What to ask the ISP

Jio

AS55836

AS55836 is registered as RELIANCEJIO-IN. Mobile Jio addresses are commonly carrier-grade NAT: the public IPv4 is shared, and the phone's own address is private or in 100.64.0.0/10. JioFiber is a separate product. Ask Jio whether your plan has a public IPv4 and whether a static IPv4 add-on exists in your city. Do not pay from a price quoted on a random forum. If this page shows an IPv6 address, you already have a path that is not shared the way IPv4 CGNAT is.

Airtel

AS45609 and AS24560

AS45609 is registered as BHARTI-MOBILITY-AS-AP, which is the mobile network and is usually CGNAT. AS24560 is AIRTELBROADBAND-AS-AP, and AS9498 is the broader BBIL-AP network. On Xstream Fiber, open the router's WAN status. If that address is 10.x, 172.16–31.x, 192.168.x, or 100.64–127.x, and this site shows a different public IPv4, you are behind NAT. Ask Airtel for a public or static IPv4 on the broadband plan. A mobile SIM will usually stay behind CGNAT even if the fiber line is not.

BSNL

AS9829

AS9829 is BSNL-NIB, Bharat Sanchar Nigam's national backbone. Bharat Fiber circles have offered a static IPv4 option; the tariff is set locally and changes. Ask the exchange or the self-care portal for “static IP” on your FTTH connection and get the price in writing. Until then, compare the router WAN address with the address on this site, and check whether you also have IPv6.

ACT

AS18209 and AS24309

RDAP names both AS18209 and AS24309 CABLELITE-AS-AP. PeeringDB lists AS18209 as Atria Convergence Technologies, the company behind ACT Fibernet. Some ACT plans put customers behind CGNAT and sell a public or static IPv4 separately. Confirm on your bill or with ACT support. The practical test is the same: router WAN address versus the public address here.

Vi

AS38266 and AS55410

AS38266 and AS55410 are both registered as VIL-AS-AP, Vodafone Idea. Vi mobile addresses are usually CGNAT: the public IPv4 is shared. This list does not describe a separate Vi fiber ASN. Run the check with Wi-Fi off if you mean the SIM. A VPN does not turn that shared address into a static public one.

Ways around a missing public IPv4

IPv6

If the IPv6 line on this site has an address, the ISP is already giving you one. Privacy extensions rotate the host part; the prefix is what you ask the ISP to keep stable. Services you run at home can listen on IPv6 without a public IPv4. Some older websites and games still want IPv4.

Tailscale

Tailscale builds a private network between machines you control. You reach them by a Tailscale address, so you do not need an open port or a public IPv4. It does not give a website a public address. Documentation: tailscale.com/kb/

A static IPv4 from the ISP

This is the right request when a bank, camera, or trading platform literally requires a public IPv4 that does not change and is not shared. Ask for “public static IPv4”, not “a VPN”. Get the monthly price from the ISP. A VPN exit usually makes shared-IP and datacenter checks worse.

Trading platforms and remote-work checks sometimes reject a shared address. That is their rule, not a SEBI requirement this site can cite. Read that carefully before you pay for a static IP. A VPN is the wrong tool for this problem.

Questions

Am I behind CGNAT?

Compare the public IPv4 on this page with the WAN address in your router. If the router shows 100.64.x, 10.x, or another private range on the ISP side, and this page shows a different public IPv4, you are behind NAT. A mobile ASN makes that more likely. It is not a count of how many people share the address.

Am I behind CGNAT on Jio or Airtel?

Jio mobile (AS55836) and Airtel mobile (AS45609) commonly share a public IPv4. JioFiber and Airtel broadband (AS24560) depend on the plan. Vi mobile is AS38266 and AS55410. BSNL is AS9829. ACT Fibernet is AS18209 and AS24309.

Will a VPN fix CGNAT?

No. A VPN replaces a shared ISP address with a shared datacenter address. Ask the ISP for a public IPv4, or use IPv6, Tailscale, or a Cloudflare Tunnel for reaching your own machines.
