Asking an Indian ISP for a public address

Prices and plan names change by city. This guide does not quote a rupee figure. Get the price from the ISP, on a bill or a ticket, before you pay anyone else to “fix your IP”.

The test, before the phone call

Open the CGNAT check on the connection you care about, not on mobile data if the problem is your fiber line. Write down the public IPv4 and whether an IPv6 address appears. Then open the router’s WAN or Internet status. If those two IPv4 addresses match, you already have a public IPv4. It may still change when the router reconnects. “Public” and “static” are different.

What to ask

If they will not sell one

IPv6, Tailscale, and Cloudflare Tunnel are described on the CGNAT page. Use those for reaching your own machines or publishing a website. They do not satisfy a third party that insists on seeing a stable public IPv4.
