What a geolocation country of Singapore tends to mean, and which networks sit behind it.
Singapore is an APNIC economy, and it is a hosting hub out of proportion to its population. Singtel AS7473, StarHub AS4657, and M1 AS4773 are the household and mobile networks. A Singapore country code on a datacenter or VPN ASN is much more often a server in a Singapore facility, or a cloud region, than a person on a StarHub line. Treat the ASN as the sentence and the country as the adjective.
Neighbourhood-level geolocation inside Singapore is not a meaningful product. The island is small, the databases are coarse, and a “Singapore” result that is right at country level has almost no street value. IPv6 availability depends on the retail ISP and the plan. A VPN exit that claims Singapore tells you where the server is, not where the user is.
A database placed the address in Singapore. That is often true and still unhelpful: the country is small, and a large share of “Singapore” addresses are hosting, VPNs, and cloud regions rather than a person on the island.
Which ISPs serve households in Singapore?
Singtel AS7473, StarHub AS4657, and M1 AS4773 are the main retail networks. A hosting ASN with a Singapore country code is a different population.
