# Jio
> Your Jio IP address is the public address of this connection when it is on Jio. AS55836, CGNAT on Jio mobile and JioFiber, and prefixes RIPEstat listed.
This connection is `216.73.217.54` on AS16509 (Anthropic, PBC).

Jio mobile and JioFiber are different products. The mobile network in this site’s list is [AS55836](https://ipinfo.fyi/asn/55836), registry name RELIANCEJIO-IN, checked 13 Oct 2026. Mobile addresses there are commonly carrier-grade NAT: websites see one public IPv4, and many subscribers share it. The address on the phone is private, or it sits in 100.64.0.0/10, the range reserved for carrier-grade NAT.

## Check this connection, not a different one

If the problem is the fiber line, do not run the test on mobile data. Connect to that router, open the [CGNAT check](https://ipinfo.fyi/tools/cgnat), and write down the public IPv4 and whether an IPv6 address appears. Then open the router’s WAN or Internet status.

- The two IPv4 addresses match, and the WAN address is not in 100.64.0.0/10: you already have a public IPv4. It may still change when the session reconnects. Public is not the same as static.

- The WAN address is 100.64.x, 10.x, 172.16–31.x, or 192.168.x, and this site shows a different public IPv4: the ISP is translating. That is CGNAT or another NAT in front of you.

- An IPv6 address appears: you already have a path that is not shared the way IPv4 CGNAT is. Privacy extensions rotate the host part. The prefix is what you would ask Jio to keep stable.

## What to ask Jio

Ask whether this specific plan includes a public IPv4, and whether a static IPv4 add-on is sold in your city. Ask them to name the plan and the monthly charge on a bill or a ticket. This site does not quote a rupee figure, because those prices change and are not the same in every city. Do not pay a forum poster who offers to “fix your IP”.

## What does not fix it

A VPN replaces the shared Jio address with a shared datacenter address. Inbound hosting, cameras, and platforms that reject shared or datacenter IPs usually get worse, not better. IPv6, Tailscale, and Cloudflare Tunnel are the workarounds that do not pretend to be a static ISP address. They are summarized on the [CGNAT page](https://ipinfo.fyi/tools/cgnat).

AS55836 RELIANCEJIO-IN, announced-prefix samples on 19 Oct 2026: 157.32.0.0/12, 49.32.0.0/13, 115.240.0.0/13; 2409:4000::/22. RIPEstat counted 2092 IPv4 and 421 IPv6 prefixes that day.

## Questions

### Does Jio use CGNAT?

Jio mobile (AS55836, RELIANCEJIO-IN) commonly does. The public IPv4 is shared. JioFiber depends on the plan, so test the fiber line itself.

### How do I check CGNAT on Jio?

Open the CGNAT check on that connection. Then open the router WAN address, or the phone’s status page. If the ISP side is 100.64.x, 10.x, or another private range, and the public IPv4 is different, you are behind NAT.

### Will a VPN give me a public Jio IP?

No. A VPN hides the Jio address behind a datacenter address that is also shared. Ask Jio for a public or static IPv4 on that plan, or use IPv6.
